Privacy Policy
Effective: April 27, 2026
BibleAI is built around a simple promise: your conversations and reading habits never leave your device. This page explains what data the app handles, what stays local, and the very small list of things that briefly touch our servers.
TL;DR
- AI conversations stay on your device — Gemma 4 runs offline.
- Reading position, bookmarks, and Bible language preference stay on your device.
- No analytics SDKs. No Facebook, Firebase, Adjust, Mixpanel.
- No tracking. No advertising. No data brokers.
- Bible files and AI models are downloaded from HuggingFace on demand. Like any web download, your IP address briefly reaches their servers.
- If you subscribe, Apple processes the payment and shares limited receipt data with the app (purchase status, no personal info).
What we collect on our servers
Practically nothing. We don't have a user accounts system. You can use BibleAI without signing in to anything.
The only data that briefly reaches third-party servers:
1. Asset downloads (HuggingFace)
When you pick a Bible language during onboarding or download a voice or AI model, the app fetches the file from huggingface.co/RolandLab/bibelai-assets. This is a one-time HTTPS download. HuggingFace logs the request like any CDN — file requested, your IP, timestamp. They retain logs per their privacy policy (huggingface.co/privacy).
2. Subscription receipts (Apple via expo-iap)
If you subscribe, Apple processes the payment. Our app receives a receipt with your subscription status (active / lapsed / refunded) and product identifier directly from Apple StoreKit. We do not receive your name, email, payment info, or Apple ID. See apple.com/legal/privacy for details on Apple's handling of in-app purchases.
What we do NOT collect
- Your name, phone number, email, or address.
- Your AI conversations — Gemma runs offline; we never see them.
- Your reading position, bookmarks, or Bible language choice.
- Your location (we don't ask for permission).
- Your contacts, calendar, microphone, or camera.
- Cross-app tracking (we don't use IDFA / Apple's ATT).
- Behavioral analytics (no Mixpanel, no Amplitude, no Heap).
Data on your device
The app stores the following locally in iOS app sandbox:
- Reading position (last book + chapter you read)
- Bookmarks (verses you saved)
- Theme + font + voice preferences
- Downloaded Bibles, voices, and AI models
- AI conversation history (if/when you use Ask AI)
This data is included in your iCloud backup if you have backups enabled, but it never reaches our servers. Deleting the app deletes everything.
Children's privacy
BibleAI does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is rated 9+ on the App Store (occasional historical violence in scripture). If you believe a child has used the app and something needs deletion, contact us — but since we don't collect personal data, there's typically nothing to delete.
Your rights (GDPR / CCPA / etc.)
Since BibleAI doesn't have user accounts and doesn't collect personal data on our servers, most data-rights requests don't apply. To delete all local data: just delete the app.
If you have a specific request — e.g. want a copy of any logs we hold about your IP address from HuggingFace asset downloads — email us at privacy@bibleai.com with your request and (optionally) the date range. We'll respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, the Effective date at the top updates and the app shows a one-time prompt highlighting the change. We won't make changes retroactive — old data stays under the policy in effect when it was created.

BibleAI is the name of an app, not a tracking corporation. The team is small, the code is auditable, and this policy is honest.
